2 Day Introduction Course to Electrical Installation

Welcome to Able Skills 2 day electrical course. This electrical course is designed for candidates who have a non-electrical background or have some limited electrical knowledge.

This 2 day electrical course is designed to provide candidates with an understanding of basic electrical theory and the terminologies used. This electrical course will provide candidates with the knowledge to be able to safely work on electrical equipment in the home, additionally, an insight into Part P building regulations would also be taught.

This 2 day electrical course covers:

• Calculations of cable sizing and typical fault ratings of circuits in the home.
• The use of test equipment and safe working practices.

This would include replacing an electrical fitting, socket outlets, control switches and ceiling roses. Replacing the cable, for a single circuit only, where damaged e.g. by fire or rodent damage or impact (like for like replacement).

• Reaffixing or replacing the enclosures of existing installation components.
• Adding lighting points (light fittings and switches) to an existing circuit. (But not in a kitchen or a special location and does not involve a special installation).
• Adding socket outlets and fused spurs to an existing ring or radial circuit.
• Installing or upgrading main or supplementary equipotent bonding.

Able Skills 2 day electrical training course is available over weekend periods and is held every weekend.
