City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing Course

The course is designed for personnel in electrical contracting who have responsibility for the inspection and testing of electrical installations. It is an advanced course and needs a good working knowledge of the IEE 16th Edition.

Participants should possess relevant experience and City & Guilds 2381 or equivalent qualification. This Electrical training course will enable individuals to address the implications of BS7671 for the inspection and testing of electrical installations and prepare them for the City & Guilds 2391 examination.

This qualification is a must for those electrical contractors wishing to undertake ‘periodic inspections’

The training will cover:

• The Purpose and frequency of inspection and testing
• The main inspection requirements
• The requirements and sequence of tests
• Test apparatus
• Interpret the data and complete a results sheet
• Assess diagrams and circuits in accordance with the regulations and guidance notes
• Perform appropriate electrical tests including the following:
• Continuity of protective conductors
• Continuity of ring final circuit conductors
• Insulation resistance
• Polarity
• Earth fault loop impedance
• RCD and functional testing

Successful completion of the course leads to the award of City & Guilds 2391 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.

Once you have successfully completed and passed this exam, we will arrange for you to return for a half day practical assessment.

This exam is held periodically throughout the year on specific dates decided by City & Guilds. We will do our best to arrange this training course as close to the exam date as is possible.

Course duration: 4 days for training and return for evening exam at a later stage.
