16th Edition City & Guilds 2381 Electrical Course: BS7671 Wiring Regulations

This course will be held over three consecutive days (Mon – Wed).The exam will be held late afternoon on the third day. Candidates will be required to bring with them an up to date copy of BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations) and the IEE on site guide. These books are available to purchase from Able Skills before or at the start of the course
This course is aimed at the electrical installation and maintenance engineer and is intended to familiarise the layout and application of the 16th Edition wiring regulations, giving candidates detailed explanations & practical examples of the application of the IEE regulations, including;
- Scope of the regulation Terminology used
- Assessment of general electrical characteristics
- Methods of protecting for safety
- Selecting the correct equipment
- Special locations such as; bathrooms, swimming pools & farms
- Inspection & testing
- Use of the charts and information in the appendices
- Electrical supply systems
- Electric shock - overcurrent - thermal effects
- Earthing & Circuits arrangements
- Cable selection and sizing of conduit and trunking
- Isolation and switching
This course will ensure candidates have a good understanding of the Electrical Regulations and how they impact on the working situation.
This is a nationally recognised minimum qualification within the electrical industry.
A City & Guilds Certificate for the 16th Edition of the Wiring Regulations will be awarded to those candidates who successfully complete a 2-hour multiple-choice, open book, on-line examination.
